If Ya Like Your Beat Down Low....
The weather is warm, stress is temporarily not an issue, and I don't have to work at HEB for the next 3 days.....yes folks, I'm on the mountain looking down. However, I must vent my frustrations on one topic: and this would be on a certain freshman senator who has gotten it into his head that he is qualified to run for president. I swear, all of my self-proclaimed non-political, college-age friends are driving me insane. This would be because they have all jumped on the Barack Obama bandwagon. Only they all spell it Barak, because, having never actually read anything about him or bothered to research anything he stands for (which, btw, would be pretty much nothing), they don't know how his name is actually spelled. The only thing I am hoping is that they will all remain in their current state, which is not registered to vote. And if they are, that they will be too busy watching the same MTV they got the idea of supporting him from to actually go out and vote.Good lord, people are idiots. I hope Clinton gets the Democratic party nomination. Labels: politics
Nonsensical...
Sitting in the SCC (Student Computing Center for all you non-ags), waiting for them to let me in upstairs to take an anthropology test I have studied only a minimal amount for....yay. Life is stressful right now, but in the midst of stress, little things in life keep me smiling! Such as...my passport photo. Ugh. You know how Driver's License photos are NEVER flattering? Same thing with passport photos...Tests, tests, some working, tests, mission trip application stress...and yet a weird sort of stress, since I am pretty much at peace with whatever happens...I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to go...but if not...it's in God's hands, and as my Mom reminded me, I can't "mess up" His plan. Yay!Luke called last night, and we had a lovely conversation, mostly about politics. Seriously, you have no idea how happy it makes me when people will talk politics with me. Yes, I am a nerd. So, here is my happy list for the day:*New facebook friends (haha, so easy to please...even though several of those were people I've known for a loooong time and just hadn't gotten around to adding)*Making an A on something at last. It seems like it's been a while (yay for pop quizzes...not really though)*Orbit Mint Mojito gum*Boldness. And openings. *Beautiful weather/the sky*Learning new things/being at the most awesome university in the WORLD. Even when professors are slightly dumb.*AGGIE BASKETBALL/Antanas #44 baby. I will miss him next year. :( *My roommates. *Express pants that cost a lot, but fit perfectly. Now I just have to buy them with my next paycheck. *Political discussions.Annnd, not to end on a negative note, but I must post one random rant for the day:*OKAY. ANNA NICOLE IS DEAD. WE GET IT. IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE ON THE NEWS EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY FREAKIN DAY ON EVERY NEWS STATION. THAT IS NOT MAJOR NEWS, THERE IS MORE GOING ON IN THE WORLD. HMPH.*
Blech
I hate mean people. I encountered a woman who I am pretty sure was being controlled by Satan himself today....of course at HEB, where all of the weird people flock. :) No, but seriously, she really upset me...like I was really mad...and I need to work on loving people. It's easy enough to spout off stuff about showing people Christ's love, but when they are treating you like crap, it makes it a little bit harder. :(Anyways, in order to cheer myself up, here is a more positive half of the post.I <3:*My new canopy over my bed (thanks Cassie!)*Coming home to find my roommates lurking in my bed (haha)*Visits from Becca :)*My new myspace song, discovered on The Last Kiss soundtrack*Our new dinosaur names (just call me T-Dac)*Roadtrips to away games for basketball....can't wait till Saturday...cheering on the Aggie Men's Team in Oklahoma!*The lovely people of Upstream (that would be all of them of course)*JESUS!!! Even when He tells me things I don't like to hear, or tells me to do things I don't really want to....I kinda trust Him a little more than me. :)*Meeting new people who make my day a little brighter, even when we don't speak the same language. :)All that to say...I a truly a blessed person. And a complete screwup....yet still blessed. I am off to watch SNL when I should be studying for Criminology....
