Thanksgiving was, for the most part, very good...except for the virus I caught that caught up with me Saturday night...I won't go into the gory details, but gosh, I haven't thrown up since I was like ten (weird, I know)...and yeah, it wasn't fun. I'm still not all the way well...which does not bode well for the millions of things needing to be done before an all-too-welcome Christmas break....speaking of which...

I CAN'T WAIT!!
It's funny, last year, while I looked forward to/enjoyed the break, as a new college student, it seemed too long to be away from the exciting world of college...now, I have a feeling, it won't be long enough....annd, I'll be working for most of it, so, yeah. Haha. I have officially turned into a workaholic, but my life revolves around my apartment payment. lol

Well, just a note to say, I'm still alive, and not currently thinking deep thoughts...I'm too tired for that.

And, Deja Vu is an interesting movie. Me likey. Also, I would still marry Jim Caviezel....if he wasn't already married.

I would just reallly appreciate some prayers for my family, we got some difficult news today...I'm sure I will talk to most of you about it in person, but yeah, for now, prayers would be appreciated a bunch!

If I were a drink I would be mixed of course...

You know those lists about how to annoy people in elevators? For your reading pleasure, here is how to annoy your HEB cashier/bagger (maybe compiled from personal experience).

*Get in line with a little red handheld basket. Do not unload. Set on belt, so that the cashier has to unload it, thus slowing down the line, as you stand idly by and watch them do it.

*Come through the express line with 50 items, instead of the specified 10.

*Ask for paper bags. Yes, I know sometimes you want paper bags for other things, but just ask for some extras, we will give them to you. Bagging big orders in paper bags SUCKS. And is not practical. Save the trees people. lol

*Come to the College Station HEB at 1 a.m., when there are only like three people working in the front, with a massive order. Same goes for 6 a.m. people...what are you doing on a real shopping ttrip at those times? Get a life...and if you are trying to beat the crowds...navigating a cart through the mountains of boxes in the middle of the aisles for the stockers to work on is worse, trust me.

*When your cashier asks you how you're doing, don't answer or grunt. Yes, we have to ask you, but we really do want an answer, even if it's "I don't want to be here".

*Finally....on the last screen when you swipe your debit card...it is NOT asking you if you want cash back. It wants to know if your balance is okay...if you want cash back there is a button that says cash back that you must hit.

More to follow I am sure....and really, I sound like a bia in this post..I seriously don't spend my time at work being mad...I actually enjoy work for the most part...people are interesting...

In other news....I got my first A on a test of the semester, finally! That test was a joke. Wowza. It has given me hope, which will probably be swiftly removed in accounting tomorrow.

Grooming for Greatness

Whoa. We just got the news that our school president, Dr. Robert Gates, has been selected by President Bush to succeed Donald Rumsfeld. Daaang. That's pretty cool. One piece of good news in the midst of a huge turnover election. More ranting to come after I get back from Botany lab....

Back In The Swing of Things...

My relationship with work is truly a love/hate relationship. I hate having my schedule dictated by it, but I feel much more like myself since I've settled into the routine of being at HEB every minute of my life again....hahaha.

Yesterday was a funny day...I had a shift doing returns, which, unlike at my old location, is a HUGE job, thus the scheduled eight-and-a-half hour shift. I actually finished them though, and was declared the best returns person they'd ever seen. I don't think that's true, cause I had no idea where anything went, but hey, I did have eight hours to finish the motherload of all returns in. My feet are still killing me.

And, I got two lovely suprises...a pay raise and a random bonus check. Yay HEB.

Annnd, tomorrow, I get off early enough to FINALLY go to an Aggie football game!!! I'm pumped. Annnnd basketball season is starting!!! YAY SPURS!! YAY AGGIES!! YAY ANTANAS KAVALAUSKAS (I have no idea if I spelled that right).

So, all in all, it's looking like a pretty good weekend. :)
